Low Cost of Ownership, Less Downtime

DAE Pumps is the expert in delivering electric Open Flow pumps (also known as Peristaltic Pumps) that have been engineered with decades of industry experience to provide the performance, design simplicity and reliability our customers demand to achieve the lowest total cost of ownership.

Our open-flow pump features a self-priming and dry-running design preventing premature failure from wear/tear. The Crest and Peak open flow pumps showcase a low cost of ownership with minimal maintenance. Traditional positive displacement pumps utilize valves, lobes, rotors or vanes that are prone to premature wear during operation. The main benefit of open flow pumps is that they transfer the fluid through the hose, requiring only one component to be changed. This increases productivity with less downtime and lowers repair costs simultaneously.

DAE Pumps Crest and Peak Open Flow Pumps
Open Flow Pumps

The DAE Pumps Crest series heavy-duty open flow pumps are suitable for: low or high viscous, pure, neutral, aggressive, pasty, and abrasive liquids.

These durable pumps use gentle-action rotating rollers to compress the hose instead of hard fixed shoes. This allows the rollers to gently rotate and compress the hose, losing minimal power from surface friction. The pump’s gentle rollers reduce power consumption significantly. The crest series comes in different materials for multiple types of applications and allows for easy access for quick cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance. DAE Pumps offers a variety of sizes Crest open-flow pumps that range from .2″ to 5″ sizes and .09 GPM to 121.1 GPM production ranges.

The DAE Pumps Peak series heavy-duty open flow pumps are suitable for: low or high viscous, pure, neutral, aggressive, pasty, and abrasive liquids.

The Peak series features a continuous dry running and self-priming design. The design allows for a low cost of ownership and quick/easy maintenance on the job site. Peak open flow pumps avoid premature failure and loss of flow due to their unique design. DAE Pumps offers a variety of sizes Peak open-flow pumps that range from .35″ to 1.77″ sizes and 37 GPH to 61 GPH production ranges.

Hose Benefits & Features

The superior quality of DAE Open Flow Pumps is one key to our success but, more importantly, it is the key to your success in everyday applications. DAE Pumps is always engaged with customers to provide quality hoses for superior performance in the market.

To reach that objective, DAE Pumps invests in high-quality raw materials and in an engineered design to perfectly balance strength and elasticity. The result of this effort is the DAE Open Flow Pump portfolio, which adds premium performances and a life cycle up to 30% longer* than the competition.

DAE OPEN FLOW PUMP FEATURES

  • Engineered designs with varying inner reinforcement layers (from 2 to 6) of braided polyamide are selected based on hose material and size.
  • The outer layer is vulcanized to strict tolerances to ensure perfect compression.
  • Best quality raw materials create an engineered compound to combine optimum mechanical and chemical characteristics.
  • External raw surface (hose is not re-machined after production) retains the lubrication film between the
hose and shoe, reducing friction and heat generation to further extend hose life.
  • Available in 7 different material compounds and 16 different sizes to cover a wide range of applications and pump sizes.
  • Unique color code is located on the hose to facilitate the material identification.

DAE OPEN FLOW PUMPS COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

  • Longer life: Up to 30% longer* than the competition due to the design features listed above.
  • Able to handle shear-sensitive fluids with minimal wear.
  • Highly versatile.
  • Available in different lengths retrofittable with most major competitive pumps.
  • Once retrofitted with DAE Open Flow Pumps, competitive pumps reduce their TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) thanks to an extended mean time between failures.

LOW-PRESSURE TUBES FOR PEAK PUMPS

Low-pressure tubes are available for DAE Open Flow Pumps in different materials and with different levels of reinforcement. We can divide low-pressure tubes into two families:

  • Non-reinforced tubes – used mainly for very low-pressure transfer and dosing, can support fluid pressure up to 30 PSI.
  • Reinforced tubes – can support pressures up to 60 PSI and are more suitable for light industrial applications.

Maintenance and Repair

Regular maintenance is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of slurry pumps, including electric slurry pumps and submersible slurry pumps. In demanding applications such as mining, dredging, and construction, pumps are often exposed to high viscosity slurries, abrasive materials, and challenging conditions that can accelerate wear and increase the risk of clogging. To address these challenges, modern slurry pumps are constructed with wear resistant materials and specially designed impellers and wear parts, significantly reducing the frequency of repairs and minimizing downtime.

One of the standout features of today’s electric slurry pumps is their easy maintenance. Many models are engineered for quick and straightforward replacement of wear parts and seals, allowing operators to perform routine maintenance with minimal disruption to operation. This not only helps to keep operating costs and energy consumption in check, but also ensures that the pump continues to deliver efficient and reliable performance, even when handling tough materials like fly ash or sediment.

Regular inspection and verification of key pump components—such as the impeller, seals, and pressure systems—are crucial for identifying signs of wear before they develop into major issues. By adjusting the impeller and replacing worn parts as needed, operators can optimize the pump’s efficiency and extend its service life. This proactive approach to maintenance is especially important in industries where downtime can be costly and where the security and reliability of pumping systems are paramount.

In addition to in-house maintenance, many manufacturers offer specialized repair services, spare parts, and expert technical support to help operators maintain the quality and performance of their slurry pumps. When selecting a pump, it’s important to consider not only its suitability for your specific application, but also the maintenance requirements and support services available. By investing in high-quality, wear resistant pumps and adhering to a regular maintenance schedule, operators can reduce operating costs, minimize downtime, and ensure safe, efficient operation across a wide range of industries.

Ultimately, prioritizing maintenance and repair is key to maximizing the productivity and reliability of your slurry pumping systems. Regular verification and prompt response to any issues help maintain the security and efficiency of your operation, allowing you to meet the demands of even the most challenging pumping applications.
